IN a development for inter-city cooperation, Cagayan de Oro city Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy extended a warm welcome to 85 officials from Tangub City, led by Mayor Sabiniano ‘Ben’ Canama.
City Mayor’s Office chief of staff Sheila Lumbatan said the delegation’s three-day benchmarking activity in the City aims to delve into the best practices and interests of Kagay-anons in the realm of tourism, with a focus on sustainable tourism development and community engagement strategies.
During their visit, Lumbatan said the Tangub City officials engaged in discussions with Mayor Uy, where they exchanged valuable insights and experiences.
The dialogue centered on Cagayan de Oro’s innovative initiatives and successful projects that have been effectively implemented under Mayor Uy’s leadership.
Of particular interest was the city’s recent milestone achievement of receiving the prestigious ‘Seal of Good Local Governance,’ a testament to Mayor Uy’s commitment to governance excellence.
Mayor Uy highlighted the importance of sharing knowledge and experiences between cities, emphasizing the significance of collaboration in fostering mutual growth and development.
The exchange of ideas between Cagayan de Oro and Tangub City is envisioned to inspire both parties to further enhance their approaches to governance, particularly in the realm of sustainable tourism and community engagement, said Lumbatan.
