In 2019, real Philippines launched the realme Mobile Legends Cup (RMC) as a commitment to support Filipino gamers in the local esports scene and empower amateur gamers. For seven successful seasons, RMC, modeled after Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL) tournament, has gained a strong following.
The exciting culmination of one of RMC’s most action-packed seasons took place on July 1 at SM Megamall. Z4 Esports Pegaxy emerged as the champion of the men’s division, while Smart Omega Empress became the first ever champion of the inaugural Women’s League. Both teams were awarded prizes of over PHP 1,000,000 and PHP 150,000 worth of realme devices.
In addition to the amateur championship matches, the RMC Season 7 Grand Finals features a friendly yet highly competitive showmatch segment involving professional Mobile Legends squads. Philippine national esports team SIBOL, along with teams Smart Omega and TNC Pro Team – ML, battle it out for mobile gaming supremacy. SIBOL showed their dominance by finishing the event with an unbeaten record.
The Grand Finals also saw veteran caster Chantelle receive two major trophies. He was voted the Finals MVP of the casters’ showmatch and also won the title of Legendary Caster by topping a poll on realme’s official Facebook page.
The event was filled with excitement as fans, both in person and online, witnessed heart-pumping matches and enjoyed a performance by iconic rapper Gloc-9. Several ML:BB personalities were also present as part of the festivities.
Approximately 3,000 attendees witnessed the Grand Finals at SM Megamall, while the livestream of the event garnered an impressive 888,000 views.
