Converge ICT Solutions Inc., a leading fiber internet service provider, has joined forces with Golden Arches Development Corporation (McDonald’s Philippines) to ensure uninterrupted connectivity to many branches of the famous chain of quick service restaurants across the country.
Since 2015, Converge has been a valued partner of McDonald’s Philippines, initially starting at McDonald’s Clark Gate in Clark Freeport, Pampanga. Currently, Converge operates nearly 40% of McDonald’s 700+ restaurants nationwide.
According to Kenneth Yang, President and CEO of McDonald’s Philippines, Converge offers a variety of options that allow them to choose the most optimal connection for each Converge-enabled restaurant. This, in turn, provides an improved experience for customers and employees.
Converge has played a key role in McDonald’s Philippines’ digital transformation journey, providing network connectivity to their offices and branches, facilitating initiatives such as NXTGEN. NXTGEN stores have advanced technologies such as split counters, digital menu boards, self-order kiosks, and accept various digital payment methods. Approximately 60% of McDonald’s stores have adopted the NXTGEN concept.
Dennis Anthony Hi, Converge CEO and Co-Founder, expressed their commitment to help businesses in the Philippines in their digital transformation, improve their competitiveness and customer service. Converge is proud to support McDonald’s Philippines in its journey to become a fast food giant with technology.
High bandwidth and redundancy have been critical to the success of McDonald’s Philippines, enabling seamless digital ordering, cashless payments, and efficient food preparation and delivery. Converge’s reliable and high-speed connectivity plays a vital role in maintaining quick service restaurant smooth customer experience.
Both companies are determined to continue growing, with McDonald’s planning to open at least 50 stores this year. Environmental sustainability is a top priority, with the launch of McDonald’s Green & Good stores that use eco-friendly building solutions, solar energy, and other energy and water conservation measures.
Converge, known for its green fiber optic technology that consumes less energy, is also focused on sustainability. The company is transitioning its headquarters and data centers to renewable energy and aims to expand the use of clean energy to more sites.
Until April 2023, Converge continues to expand its network aggressively, reaching more than 15.9 million households and 60% of Filipino households, making it the most extensive fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network in the Philippines. As Converge’s network expands, more McDonald’s branches will benefit from the fiber-powered connection.
Converge’s Chief Operations Officer, Jesus C. Romero, expressed gratitude for being a strategic connection partner with McDonald’s Philippines. With continued expansion across the country, Converge aims to deliver high-speed connectivity to many McDonald’s branches, providing customers with a convenient and smooth service that reflects the motto. “I Love It!”
