Celebrating Korea’s Best Content: During the annual Blue Dragon Series Awards (BSA) on July 19, Disney+ won four prestigious awards, marking a night that honored the best of Korean content within the streaming world. Notably, Disney + won the coveted Best Drama Series award for the Korean tentpole series, Big Bet. This important occasion is an important milestone for the industry, as the BSA is the first industry award in Korea that recognizes outstanding stories and talent across various streaming platforms.
Big Bet, an exciting crime action series with a dedicated fan base that spanned two seasons, starred the famous actor. Choi Minsik and was honored not only with the Best Drama Series award but also with the Best Supporting Male Actor award for by Lee Dong Hwi amazing performance. The second season, which was already a resounding success, quickly surpassed its predecessor as the most-watched locally produced original series on Disney+ in Korea.
The compliments continue on Shin Yeeun received the Best Female Newcomer award for her outstanding role in Revenge of Others, a gripping thriller series in which she portrays a student determined to uncover the truth behind her brother’s mysterious death. In addition, Lee Kwangsoo was recognized with the Popular Actor award for his great performance in the hilarious K-variety show, The Zone: Survival Mission.
