GRADE 10 student of Dao-an National High School in San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur is one of the four qualifiers representing the Philippines in the Global Information Technology (IT) Challenge in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates this coming October.
Jethro Marzado, 17, was declared one of the overall top four Youth with Disabilities in the 2023 National IT Challenge by the National Council on Disability Affairs last June 26-27 at the Bayview Park Hotel in Manila.

Apart from Marzado, among the top four are Jance S. Cerdeñola of Quezon, Isabela; Mark Andrei G. Molina, and Vince Robert H. Bandin, both from Carmona, Cavite.
A total of 30 youth with disabilities participated in the two-day IT Challenge and competed in five categories: eLifeMap, eTool PowerPoint Presentation, eTool Excel, eContent (Movie Making), and eCreative Smart Car (Robotics ) all of which passed Marzado.
Marzado shared that despite his family’s financial difficulties, he was very persistent in participating in the competition. He wants to thank his family and the Municipality of San Miguel that held a parade for him on July 3.
Under the supervision of her coach Mary Ann Martinez, Marzado disclosed that they are now preparing for the competition in the UAE by exploring and reviewing five categories during the challenge in Manila.
