A hot pursuit operation was conducted in Kidapawan City, Cotabato Province on Wednesday, July 18, for the arrest of six suspects in a robbery hold-up incident in Makilala in the same province.

According to the victims who were identified as Jerry Luy, Jemuel Guichapin, and Joemar Dignos, they are representatives of Ajinomoto Phil. Corporation and were doing business in the store when they were approached by two armed men, demanding valuables amounting to P50,000.

The suspects fled to Kidapawan City as their escape. The MPS alerted the Kidapawan City PNP.
The suspects were identified as Gemar Solidag Tipan, Manilito Paragas Linda, Allan Colita Miesco, Denver Jay Sefuentes, Dennis Singson Sefuentes and Arcadio Tipan Sefuentes.
Recovered from the suspects was a Mitsubishi Strada, pistols with full magazines, a BPO passbook owned by one of the victims, illegal drugs, and P35,550 in cash.
Tipan and Linda already have a robbery record in April in Butuan City where they got P970,000 worth of money.
Upon the arrest of the six suspects, Kidapawan City Mayor Jose Paolo Evangelista reminded those who commit such crimes in the city.
“Do not try to enter the Kidapawan,” he said.
Evangelista also stated that the Local Government Unit and PNP are always ready to ensure the safety of his people as well as peace and order in the city. (John Peps Dales, MSU-Marawi Intern)
