DIGOS CITY ― The municipal mayor of Pigcawayan, North Cotabato, was involved in a vehicular accident on the Davao-Cotabato National Highway.
Lt. Col. The suspect was identified as Juanito Cloud Agustin, 54, from Purok Tigbawan, Pigcawayan, North Cotabato.
Mayor Agustin was driving a Nissan Navara pickup truck with five other passengers going to Digos City when the car crashed into the concrete center island of the road near the Iglesia Ni Kristo Church in Barangay Tres de Mayo around 3:30 in the afternoon last July.
The emergency responders immediately took the mayor who reportedly suffered severe physical injuries to the Digos Doctors Hospital, a few kilometers from the scene, for immediate medical attention and specialized treatment, while the passengers were quickly taken to the Davao del Sur Provincial Hospital.
The police identified the passengers as Nancy Agustin, 42; Jacky Agustin, 37; Juan Agustin, 15; Angel Caños, 10; and Nickiey Agustin, 9.
There were no reports of progress, despite the medical bulletin of the mayor and his passengers being released to the media at the time of publication.
