TALISAYAN Mayor Rico Taray expressed confidence in the development of tourism by bringing paragliding sport to the town.
During the one-week celebration of the town’s annual fiesta that ended on July 16, a national competition called the Paragliding Accuracy Competition was also held as one of the major activities of the fiesta, according to Taray.
The competition was then held by launching their fly site located 600 meters above sea level in Sipaka Heights and its landing area in Luyong Baybayan of this town on July 14 to July 16, said Taray.
He said that the construction of the fly site and landing area and the bringing of the sports event to the town will greatly contribute to the development of tourism in this town.
“Bringing the paragliding sports events here through the efforts of Governor Peter M. Unabia is a big help in our tourism development,” said Taray.

He added that not only the town will benefit from this sporting event in the development of tourism but also the entire province of Misamis Oriental.
On his part, Unania declared, in his short message after the awarding ceremonies, that the paragliding tournament is an annual sporting event in Talisayan.
