THE distribution of 3,363 land titles was held at the regional Certificate of Land Ownership Award (CLOA) ceremony at the Sultan Kudarat Provincial Capitol’s gymnasium on Saturday, July 8.
These land titles were distributed to 3,421 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) who are mostly farmers from different provinces in the region with an estimated 6,005.51 hectares of land.
The ceremony was part of the Department of Agrarian Reform (Dar) distribution of 31,831 land titles nationwide at the same time as the signing of the New Agrarian Emancipation Act last Friday, July 7, at the Malacañang Palace.
This act serves as a fulfillment of the promise of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. during his first State of the Nation Address in July 2022. It absolved the amortization of principal payments, interest, and penalties on land cultivated by farmers or landowners.
The New Agrarian Emancipation Act will benefit 610,054 ARBs, amounting to P57.55 Billion in total payments to the Land Bank of the Philippines.
DAR Secretary Conrado M. Estrella III stated that this action is a major step in achieving food security in the country and giving farmers the importance of service as they provide Filipinos with their daily food.
