The journey to financial freedom begins with clearly defined but realistic goals depending on individual aspirations and long-term goals, according to a leading financial planner.
Fitz Villafuerte, registered financial planner, said during the RCBC Webinar on Investment Retirement Planning, that depending on individual wishes and long term goals, there are countless investment options available for aspiring investors.
“It is crucial to start by defining your goals and setting realistic goals,” said Villafuerte during the webinar sponsored by Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. (RCBC) on June 23.
During the webinar, Villafuerte introduced the concept of SMART Goals, an acronym for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-bound investment plans.
“Whether it’s buying a car or securing a comfortable retirement, financial planning involves choosing the most appropriate investment vehicle to reach your destination,” he said.
Villafuerte also mentioned the benefits of different types of investments, including liquidity investments, which offer accessibility and growth, allowing your money to increase over time.
Cash flow investments, on the other hand, generate a steady stream of income, which provides financial stability.
Investments, according to Villafuerte, can be categorized into short-term, medium-term, and long-term, each of which carries a different level of risk and growth potential.
To start investing, he advises investors to check out reliable institutions like RCBC, which provides a safe platform for investing online, as well as platforms like Bonds.ph and Treasury.gov.ph for investments of government bonds.
This free webinar is one of RCBC’s initiatives in line with its advocacy of Financial Literacy. It is exclusively offered to corporate clients who avail of the ACCESS program which is the bank’s Payroll Marketing Program. Companies availing the bank’s Payroll service can provide this benefit to their employees.
