DIGOS CITY ― The dispute between the brothers got heated which resulted in the stabbing in Purok-6, I-Care, Barangay Ising, Carmen, Davao del Norte on July 9 in the morning.
Major Ian James Acal, Carmen police chief in the police report that at 12:30 a.m. on Sunday a concerned citizen called for their help in relation to the stabbing incident that happened in Purok-6, I-Care where P/Captain Dennis Ladesma, the deputy police chief immediately sent the duty patrol team to the area.
Acal identified the victim as Darwin Bugcal Asil, 19, while the suspect is Armando Bugcal Asil, Darwin’s younger brother.
The investigators told that Darwin arrived at their house clearly drunk and uttered invectives against Armando which led to an argument.
In the midst of a heated argument, Armando took a knife from the kitchen and stabbed Darwin several times, hitting his younger brother in different parts of his body.
At that moment, their father arrived at the place where the incident happened where he immediately took Darwin to the Carmen District Hospital for treatment, according to the report.
On the other hand, Armando went to Purok Chairman Jay Balase who took him to the police station.
The police have not yet obtained the medical bulletin on the current condition of the victim in the hospital.
Acal urged residents to drink in moderation to avoid adverse events.
