DIGOS City ― A street-level drug personality who was the subject of a drug buy-bust operation in the city was seized with suspected shabu and dried marijuana leaves.
Lt. Colonel Hamlet Lerios, police chief of Digos city identified the suspect as Akmad Abon Zailon, 30, a resident of Gokotan 9409, Pikit, North Cotabato who was categorized by the police as a Street-Level Individual – Newly Identified Drug Personality.
The sting operation was launched in Purok-5, Barangay Matti, Digos City on the afternoon of July 22 where the suspect fell into the trap of selling a sachet of the substance to a poseur-buyer.
Anti-illegal drug operatives consisting of elements of the local, provincial, and regional police and PDEA-11 recovered 0.8 grams of suspected shabu and 1.7 grams of marijuana from Zailon, according to the report.
P1,000 marked money used in the sting operation was also recovered along with suspected drugs and non-drug items from the suspect’s possession, Lerios said.
Zailon was taken into custody at the Digos police station while the relevant documents are being prepared for the filing of the appropriate case.
