The Amateur Softball Association of the Philippines (ASAPHIL) led by President Jean Henri Lhuillier, is now trying to ensure that the four Philippine squads that have qualified for no less than four competitions in the 2023 World Cup are well prepared so that they can win. everyone came out victorious. This is from the bronze medal finish of the Rp Blu Boys against their rival Hong Kong in the Mens Softball Asia Cup 2023 which guarantees themselves a place in the World cup that will happen later this year.
First in the World Cup arena is the RP Blu Girls who will compete in the 18th WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup, scheduled to take place in Dublin from July 11 to 26.
After their victory against Team Korea and winning the bronze medal, the under-15 girls also earned a spot in the WBSC World Cup U15 Women Softball 2023.
Another ASAPHIL-trained squad, the Co-ed players, are also in intensive training for this year’s WBSC Co-Ed Slow Pitch Softball World Cup after their silver medal finish in the Co-Ed Slow Pitch Softball Asia Cup last May.
Lhuillier applauded the many victories of Team Philippines saying: “This has been a great year for our athletes who have shown true strength and determination and we are proud to be able to support each and every one of them. We wish the efforts of our boys and girls will generate more public support from the Filipino community for our softball program and give the game the national recognition it deserves.”
