Cagayan de Oro City Police Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy warmly welcomed the newly appointed police director, Colonel Salvador Nomio Radam.
The introduction was recently made during a meeting attended by the former city police director, Colonel Aaron Mandia.
This leadership change was ordered by the director of the Police Regional Office-10, Police Brigadier General Lawrence Coop, on July 13, 2023.

The memo, dated July 3, 2023, refers to the previous memo from May 24, 2023, which was approved by the PNP Chief on June 29, 2023.
This recommendation requests for qualified police officers to be considered for the role of City Director of the Cagayan de Oro CPO.
Potential candidates include Colonel Ritchie Siong Bucol, Colonel Amante Quibol Suriaga, Colonel Roy Aque Magsalay, Colonel Darnell Tiotioen Dulnuan, and Colonel Arniel Agustin Hallazgo Catarata.
The selection process is guided by NAPOLCOM Memorandum Circular No. 2001-005.
The circular empowers the City Mayor to select the City Director from the list of suitable candidates within ten days of receiving the list, according to Section 51 of RA No. 6975.
The newly appointed police director, like other regional, district, provincial, and city directors, will serve a fixed term of two years, unless removed for cause, as stated in NMC No. 2007-008.
The regional director of PRO 10 is required to report their actions in this matter to the Directorate for record-keeping and information.
