In an effort to improve the lives of the natives, Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy initiated a workshop that focuses on improving their farming skills and financial management abilities.
The workshop, held in collaboration with Archbishop Emeritus Antonio J. Ledesma, SSJV, is aimed at equipping indigenous leaders from eight different areas with valuable knowledge and resources.
By empowering these leaders, the workshop has the potential to create a ripple effect in their communities, leading to better livelihoods and reduced poverty.

Roberto W. Ansaldo, a former influential person from the Department of Agriculture, gave a thought-provoking speech at the event, emphasizing the importance of sustainable land use.
The participants, many of whom depend on farming as their main source of income, found Ansaldo’s insights invaluable.
The workshop not only focused on teaching but also promoted a platform for indigenous participants to share their experiences and ideas.
This collaborative approach ensures that future plans are in line with the real needs and aspirations of the people.
Recognizing the limited access of indigenous communities to financial services, the workshop also included sessions on money management, savings, and the use of financial resources.
By equipping participants with these important skills, the workshop aims to address financial challenges and promote economic empowerment.
Mayor Klarex Uy expressed great interest in continuing the workshop for the natives, recognizing the importance of these acquired skills, fostering a sense of trust and cooperation.
This workshop marks only one part of Mayor Uy’s comprehensive plan to uplift the indigenous communities.
With a commitment to organize more workshops and implement more initiatives, the mayor envisions continued progress and development for these marginalized populations.
The success of the workshop was reflected in the positive feedback received from the participants, who expressed a newfound sense of resilience and confidence in the impact of positive change within their communities.
Mayor Uy’s vision of empowerment and upliftment has been realized through these transformative workshops, giving the indigenous people the tools they need to improve their lives and build a brighter future.
