SULTAN Kudarat Mayor Datu Tucao Mastura has offered a reward of P1 million for the arrest of the suspects behind the killing of Bai Sittie Jinn Utto Lumenda, former Vice Mayor of Rajah Buayan, Maguindanao Del Sur.
The mayor with his wife Mayor Bai Maruja Ampatuan Mastura attended the funeral of the former vice mayor yesterday, July 17, at the Municipal Gym in Zapakan, Rajah Buayan.
On July 12, the former vice mayor returned home from Tacurong City after taking his father, Datu Jonathan Lumenda, who had just finished dialysis when they were attacked by riding in tandem and shot at in Barangay Pinguiaman, Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat.
The former vice mayor was declared dead on the spot while his father was rushed to the hospital.
The family and relatives are now looking for justice for the sudden death of the former vice mayor.
His aunt, Lea Lumenda, denied the rumors about a possible conflict of interest that would lead to the death of her nephew.
“He likes a lot, he has a lot– solve which is a problem here in the town of Cradle Diagram that’s why we don’t know who his enemy is,” he said.
But he disclosed that two weeks ago, the former vice mayor declared his interest in running for captain of their barangay which they believe is a possible crime angle.
On the other hand, the Maguindanao del Sur Police Provincial Office condemned the shooting incident and confirmed by Director Police Col. Ruel Sermese that they are closely coordinating with the Sultan Kudarat PNP to identify the suspects.
