LOCAL chief executive and City Council of Cagayan de Oro City were praised by the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) for streamlining their business permits and licensing systems and implementing the electronic Business One-Stop Shop or eBOSS.
Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy and the members of the city council happily received recognition from the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) for the implementation of full automation of eBOSS in the city hall.
The Certificate of Commendation was presented by Dr. Jutchel Nayra, the Regional Chief of ARTA Northern Mindanao Regional Field Office 10, during the flag-raising ceremony held at the city hall quadrangle on Monday morning, July 3.
Recall that the initial recognition was given by Secretary Ernesto V. Perez, the Director General of ARTA, during the inauguration of the new regional field office located at the NFA compound in Baloy, Tablon, on June 22.
Cagayan de Oro is the first city in Mindanao and the second city outside of Metro Manila to receive this award from ARTA.

A key part of eBOSS’s full automation is the online billing and payment system, which facilitates the payment of business and real property taxes, traffic violations, city building fees, market stall rentals, ordinance violation receipts (OVR ), and civil registry fees. .
“Transparency is a fundamental aspect of Mayor Klarex Uy’s leadership,” said City Mayor chief of staff Shiela Lumbatan, adding that it will play an important role in her economic recovery program for the city.
Lumbatan said that by implementing the complete automation of eBOSS, the goal of the city government is to create a transparent and efficient business environment.
This initiative eliminates unnecessary bureaucracy and reduces red tape, making it easier for entrepreneurs to start and operate their businesses, according to Lumbatan.
With an online billing and payment system, business owners have easy access to accurate and up-to-date information on their tax obligations and other payments.
This transparency fosters trust between the government and the business community, encouraging investment and economic growth in the city.
In addition, by simplifying and expediting the business permit application process, the economic recovery program promotes entrepreneurship and stimulates the local economy.
