The past few months have been a rollercoaster of a ride for Sheena Jacobo, and things don’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Having won the National Finals of Red Bull Doodle Art, Jacobo will pack his bags of artistic creativity to Amsterdam for the World Finals of Red Bull Doodle Art and claim his place as the best doodle artist in the world.
Jacobo’s work, which revolves around unity among all forms of life, was chosen out of hundreds of doodle art submissions received at the National Finals on March 25. Because of his victory, Jacobo has been given the opportunity to represent the Philippines in World Finals. With the pride of the country on his back, part of Jacobo’s preparation is making sure he is well equipped with the right repertoire of creativity, innovation, and sheer creativity to draw inspiration from the imagination.
“After reading the Red Bull Doodle Art World Finals criteria, I started thinking about my ideas, like what I wanted to depict in my doodle with Burnt Toast’s icon. I started to paint the themes I had in mind. My doodle depicts the Filipino people during summer. Activities that Filipinos enjoy, our culture, and what Filipinos have to offer to the world,” said Jacobo.
“I really want to inspire artists like me that anyone, regardless of background, can do anything if they believe they can. My ultimate goal is, of course, to win the top spot. I know my competitors are amazing, and winning the World Finals is truly an honor,” he added.
The theme of this season’s Red Bull Doodle Art World Finals revolves around the evolving landscape of cryptocurrency and NFTs, encouraging full creative reign for competing contestants. With Jacobo’s enthusiasm at its peak, the graduate student from the Naga College Foundation, Inc.’s Masters of Arts program. confident that he will be on his A-Game heading into the world stage in Amsterdam.
