Khimo Gumata, the grand winner of “Idol Philippines” season 2, recently released his first recording titled “Burnt,” which serves as a preview of his upcoming full-length album.

“Burnt” revolves around the theme of loving someone over and over again, despite losing oneself in the process. The song was co-written by Khimo, Creative director at ABS-CBN Music Jonathan Wins who also produced the song, and Star Pop label head Rox Santos.

This sultry R&B single will be featured on Khimo’s much anticipated album, which he has been diligently working on since January this year. The album will feature his original compositions.
Khimo, a talented singer-performer and former tattoo artist, began his musical journey at the age of 7 when he received his first guitar and immediately fell in love with it. His musical style includes funk, neo soul, R&B, and blues.
During his junior high school years, his passion for writing poetry led him to explore songwriting. He shared, “I like to write poetry. So, I thought, why not translate this into a song composition? That’s what motivates me.”
Reflecting on how “Idol PH” changed his life, Khimo expressed deep gratitude. He said, “It’s made a big difference because I’m now doing something I love, which is performing in front of a live audience and creating music.”
Khimo’s debut offering, “Nagunog,” is now available on various digital streaming platforms. For more updates, follow Star Music on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
