Adamson University’s official film organization, Silip@lente, together with the Cultural Affairs Office held their inter-school film festival, Realifilm 2023, on January 27 at the Adamson University Theater. For the first time in two years, Silip@Lente finally held its film festival competition in person. In collaboration with CCP Arthouse Cinema, Silip@Lente presented two films at OZ AVR Cinema before the awards night. Screened films include “Mendiola Massacre” by Lito Tiongson and the 2022 Cinemalaya Short Film “See You George” by Mark Moneda.
Ms. Catherine Cequenca, director of the Cultural Affairs Office, formally opened the event with her welcome, followed by the screening of film entries.
After the premiere of 26 films, eight films were presented as “Silau’s Choice.” The bronze award was given to the film “Hindi kita malilitum” by PELIKVLA; the silver award for “Sa mga mata ng bata” by Anonymous Jeepney Productions; and the gold award was given to “All the Things Left Unsaid” by Recto Films.
Various film productions, particularly from Far Eastern University (FEU) and Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), attended the event to support their film entries.
The attendees from Project Horsemen Production shared their thoughts on how this kind of platform can be a good opportunity for all filmmakers from every university and production to show their stories and come together to celebrate the beauty of making. movies.
Meanwhile, interested in the theme of the event “Romanticizing life and social issues,” one of the production members who won the Silver Award shared their inspiration on how they made their chosen story in the movie “Sa Mga Mata ng Bata” by Chauncy Cruz of De la Salle College of Saint Benilde.
“When we made that film, we all had the same goal, about scaring children.” (When we got to the movie, we had the same goal, about children’s fear) It seems that children’s minds are easily corrupted especially by adults.. Because that is what they see as authority. “(It seems, their minds are the weakest and easily damaged, especially when dealing with adults because they are the ones they see as the authority)
Silip@Lente organized a virtual film screening using Zoom Meeting for all 26 films entered in Realifilm 2023 the day after the actual screening of the film.
Without the support of our sponsors, this event would not be possible. Silip@Lente would like to express their gratitude to the following organizations and individuals:
